Q: Do you have to be super-fit to come on one of your camps?

Not at all. We welcome participants of all levels of fitness and ability to join our camps. All of our classes and activities are totally scalable and structured so will you will never feel out of place. You won’t ever be asked to do something you are not capable of doing, however, you will be expected to put in 100% effort – failure is an option, giving up is NOT!

Q: What do I need to bring with me to one of your training camps?

Lots of training clothes! – Bring sportswear that you don't mind getting grubby, don’t bring your best clobber. We will be training hard and dirty. Swimwear for downtime by the swimming pool and on the beach, a beach towel (we provide towels for showers), toiletries – if you are only bringing hand luggage then you can get everything you need in town. Don’t forget suncream!

Q: Can we go off site in our free time?

Of course! There will time each day for rest and recovery. If you are training as hard as you should be, you will be wanting to use that time to actually rest and recover! However, there will be time for you to venture out of camp. You could have a mooch around La Cala de Mijas the local village, where you can sample some Spanish tapas or grab an ice cream on the beach, or maybe visit the local shopping centre for some retail therapy. Just make sure you are back to camp in time for the next session!

Q: Do you provide airport transfers/taxi service?

Our special offer camps include airport transfers. Each camp will have a transfer window on the day of arrival and the day of departure, so you will be expected to book your flights accordingly. Anyone choosing to travel outside of the transfer window will have to arrange their own transport separately. For all other training camps, we offer an airport pick up and drop off service for 50 euros cash each way.

Taxi services to the village: If you can’t grab a lift down the hill from one of the staff or the many people in and out of the gym, there is a very reliable taxi service to and from the local village, which you can use during your stay. The service is quick to arrive and is relatively cheap.

Q: Are you flexible on the payment plan?

Once your booking is secured with the deposit we can arrange flexible payment plans to suit on request.

Q: What does full board include?

Full board at Mikes Gym Camp includes 3 healthy nutritious meals per day, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Snacks, beverages, protein bars, recovery shakes etc are available at an additional cost and there is a fridge in your room if you want to stock up at the local supermarket. Please note that meals costs are non-refundable (if you decide to skip a meal or go out to eat, you will not be refunded the cost).

Q: Are there any self-catering facilities?

All of the rooms have fridges and there is an additional big fridge/freezer in the communal area. Here you can also find a kettle, a toaster and a microwave for communal camp use.

Q: Do you provide kit wash facilities?

Yes, depending on the duration of your stay there will be one or two kit washes a week. Please note this is for your training kit only, not all of your laundry!

Q: Can I come to one of your camps alone?

Absolutely yes! We recommend our Special offer camps for small groups and solos– these camps include all the benefits of standard fitness or OCR camps but are more cost-effective and include lots of extra benefits. Training sessions will be interactive and you are encouraged to mix with fellow campers where you will be sure to make lots of new friends during your stay. If you can’t make the dates of any of our 'Special Camps' then our Stay and Play package is also aimed at individuals. Take a look at any of the options in the 'Year Round Camps' section in the main menu.

Q: What is a typical day on camp like?

Every day is different in camp due to the wide range of training facilities here at our disposal, but a sample day, includes 3 training sessions, which will be as follows:

7am Breakfast, 8.30-10am Obstacle course & Combat zone training, 10-12.30 Rest and recovery, 12.30-1pm Lunch, 1-3pm Rest and recovery, 3-4pm Technique in Ninja alley, 44-6pm Rest and Recovery, 6.-8pm Mijas Mountain run, 8.30pm Dinner.

Q: What facilities do you have on site to occupy us in our free time?

We have a TV room with 100s of DVDs for you to choose from as well as a selection of books and games. We have a large swimming pool with lots of sunbathing areas and bean bag chill-out areas for relaxing. We also have table tennis and darts on site as well as a large selection of mobility equipment if you want to fill up your spare time with something productive!

Q: What is the payment plan for one of your camps?

For group bookings, we require a 25% deposit to reserve your dates. Places on special offer camps are reserved with a 50-euro deposit per person. Deposits are Non-refundable and non-transferable. Group bookings are asked to confirm numbers 2 months before arrival. This is when the next instalment of 25% is due. If the numbers differ from the original booking, this will not affect the deposit. Deposit will only be lost if the booking is cancelled.

If numbers have increased, we can only accommodate this if we have availability. We hold a reservation waiting list when we have a full house. Clients will be informed as and when they become available in the order listed. Confirmation and payment are due immediately to secure. The remaining 50% is payable on arrival.

Q: Do you take Credit/debit cards?

Yes. We take payments on a card for anything over 20 Euros. Please note that bank charges may be incurred.

Q: Are special dietary requirements be catered for?

Yes. Any special dietary requirements can be catered for, an additional cost will be applied and your specific requirements will need to be pre-arranged and booked in advance.

Q: Can I drink the tap water in Spain?

We do not recommend you drink the tap water. We sell bottled water at Mike's Gym and there are supermarkets nearby to stock-up for your stay.

Q: Do you provide towels?

Yes, we provide towels for cabin use but you will need to bring your own beach towel.
